Release notes

These QSense firmware release notes list the changes in each version of the QSense Motion software and sensor firmware, newest first.

Release notes v3.0 – Release Notes (Summary)

New Functionality

  • Added internal sensor recording. The sensor records to its own storage and continues even if the BLE connection is lost or disconnected.
  • Added Download Recordings, to transfer recordings from the sensor storage to your computer.
  • Added compatibility with the QSense FieldSync HUB.
  • Added two-dongle compatibility, increasing the maximum number of connected sensors to 18.
  • Added device upgradability, with firmware updates from the Device Updates screen.

Usability

  • Improved sensor group setup.
  • Improved user interface throughout the application.
  • Improved overall usability.

Internal Recording Capacity

Recording duration on the internal sensor storage depends on the sampling rate and the transmission rate:

  • 128 min at 50 Hz sampling rate and 5 Hz transmission rate
  • 64 min at 100 Hz sampling rate and 10 Hz transmission rate
  • 32 min at 200 Hz sampling rate and 20 Hz transmission rate
  • 16 min at 400 Hz sampling rate and 40 Hz transmission rate
  • 8 min at 800 Hz sampling rate and 80 Hz transmission rate

Changing the transmission rate increases or decreases the recording duration accordingly.

Release notes v2.1 – Release Notes (Summary)

  • Fixed magnetic field map timeout handling
  • Fixed sensor reconnection behavior to preserve body location assignment

Visualization

  • Corrected movement visualization when sensors are placed with tilt

New Functionality

  • Added indication when a sensor is running older firmware
  • Added support for BVH file output
